Latex foley catheter is used in departments of urology, internal medicine, surgery, obstetrics, and gynecology for drainage of urine and medication. It is also used for patients suffering from moving with difficulty or being completely bed-ridden. The Urethral catheters are passed through the urethra during urinary catheterization and into the bladder to drain urine, or for inserting fluids into the bladder.

After the catheter is inserted into the bladder, a balloon fixed the catheter near the end stays in the bladder to prevent slipping, and the drainage tube is connected to the urine bag to collect the urine.
